Frequently Asked
Questions
How do I send my files or documents to be
printed?
For digital computer files you will get the directions by email
automatically when you order. Smaller files can be sent by email and
larger files by FTP. For physical documents, please
ask before
ordering.
What file formats do you accept?
Almost all file formats are accepted,
ask if you are unsure.
PDF files are recommended as they are guaranteed to print as they
appear on your screen.
Is there a minimum order quantity?
No, but there is a $5.00 minimum order charge. This means any
order sub-totaling less than $5.00 will cost $5.00 plus shipping.
What print method do you use?
Both inkjet and laser printing is available. Inkjet offers a
much lower cost per page for color prints but the prints will smudge
if they get wet. Color laser printing is available at an extra cost
and provides the benefits of having a natural gloss on images even
on plain paper. Additionally laser prints will not smudge if wet.
For black and white prints laser costs the same as color inkjet and
is the best option. Print quality is about the same for inkjet and
laser.
Can I get a sample print before I order?
Yes (request
a free sample), you can send one of your documents to get one page printed
or have the JetCopies.com flyer (contains text and a photo) printed
as a sample. You will get one sample page for each inkjet and laser
sent by mail at no cost so you can see the difference.
Why are your prices so low? What's the
catch?
By offering inkjet printing on a high speed business inkjet
printer and buying ink by the liter, the cost in ink per page is
next to nothing. This allows the inkjet printing prices to be nearly
ten times cheaper than large copy centers! Even for laser printing
the cost is four to five times cheaper than large copy centers.
Why are laser prints more expensive?
This is because the toner (equivalent of ink in an inkjet) costs
much more than ink. Laser
printing is new at JetCopies.com and depending on its success a
bigger laser copier will be bought that will allow the additional
cost for laser prints to be cut about in half. This means the more
laser prints you order the more likely the price will go down.
Why is there a surcharge for laser prints
with high coverage?
Toner is very expensive and the cost to laser print a page
varies dramatically based on the coverage. In order to offer the
lowest price to everyone, the base prices assume an average print
coverage which is the case for most orders. Rather than charge the
highest price to everyone, only orders with high coverage are
subject to a toner surcharge fee. Due to the much lower cost of ink,
there is no surcharge for high coverage orders printed by inkjet.
Do you do borderless/full bleed printing?
No, a 1/4" or 5mm border around all four edges of the paper cannot be
printed.
Where do you ship?
Shipping is available to Canada and the United States.
International shipping is not available because the high cost to
ship heavy low cost orders is not worth it.
How long does it take to get my order?
When you enter your order details and click the "View Total"
button, the estimated time before your order is ready to ship or
pickup will be displayed. Canadian orders will arrive in 2-3
days to Quebec and Ontario, and about a week to the rest of Canada
after being shipped.
Orders to the United States will take about 1-2 weeks to arrive after
being shipped (up to
2-3 weeks after being shipped for orders of 2000 sheets or more).
Where are you located?
JetCopies.com is located in Montréal, Québec, Canada but ships
everywhere in Canada and the United States. The printing prices are
so low that even having your order shipped will end up costing a
fraction of the price of copy centers.
I live in or near Montréal, can I pick up
my order?
Yes, check the pickup option for shipping on the order form and
you will not be charged for shipping. A date and time for pickup can be arranged. |
